This INEC Voters Status check really works. Just note the following:


1. State is not necessarily your state of origin but the state you registered in e.g FCT if you registered in Abuja.

2. If you dont know your VIN try using the INEC website first to check using your name and date of birth. The INEC Voter Verification webpage is linked here.

3.  Then after your VIN comes up you can confirm that you're registered to vote by sending an SMS with your State, Last name, Voter Identification Number (VIN) to the number below
081-7164-6879.

Format:  INEC State, Last name, VIN
Example: Kogi, Solomon, 10877

You should receive a response within 15 minutes.

Please note that:

- Your VIN for this purpose is the last 5 digits of your Voter's Identification Number found on the INEC website.

- Text messages are charged at the local network rates
