The district head of President Buhari's hometown in Daura, Alhaji Musa Umar-Uba, who was kidnapped 3 months ago has been rescued in Kano by a combined team of security operatives. Supreme Court dismisses Senator Adeleke's petition
The much awaited Supreme Court decision in the case of Senator Ademola Adeleke (Davido's uncle who is also known as the dancing senator) and the current Governor of Osun state, Oyetola, has been aanounced in favour of the incumbent Governor. The petition by Senator Adeleke was dismissed on a technical ground because the lead judge who read the judgement was absent from one of the proceedings. The Supreme Court is of the view that the Election Petition Tribunal should have started the petition afresh after the absence of the judge in one of the proceedings. Read it at DailyTrust.
Court Orders Permanent Forfeiture Of $8.4million, N9.3billion Linked To Patience Jonathan
A Federal High Court on Monday in Lagos ordered the permanent forfeiture of US$8.4 million and N9.2 billion linked to former first lady, Patience Jonathan for being proceeds of unlawful activities. The decision was made upon an application from EFCC and the judge held that the evidence presented by the defence were conflicting. The judge further ordered that the monies be paid into the CBN and the Federal Government's account. Read it at Channels.
