The much awaited Supreme Court decision in the case of Senator Ademola Adeleke (Davido's uncle who is also known as the dancing senator) and the current Governor of Osun state, Oyetola, has been aanounced in favour of the incumbent Governor. The petition by Senator Adeleke was dismissed on a technical ground because the lead judge who read the judgement was absent from one of the proceedings. The Supreme Court is of the view that the Election Petition Tribunal should have started the petition afresh after the absence of the judge in one of the proceedings. Read it at DailyTrust.
Court Orders Permanent Forfeiture Of $8.4million, N9.3billion Linked To Patience Jonathan
A Federal High Court on Monday in Lagos ordered the permanent forfeiture of US$8.4 million and N9.2 billion linked to former first lady, Patience Jonathan for being proceeds of unlawful activities. The decision was made upon an application from EFCC and the judge held that the evidence presented by the defence were conflicting. The judge further ordered that the monies be paid into the CBN and the Federal Government's account. Read it at Channels.

In a new move that is being lauded by many comments online as the best news so far, the farmers herdsmen clashes may be headed for a permanent solution this time without bloodshed. This is because the South East Governors Forum speaking through their chairman, Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, just revealed that though there is no land for Ruga settlements in the states, they are willing to sell the much needed grasses to the herdsmen in the North in exchange for beef. In view of this, the trucks or trains that carry cows to the South can now return with grasses grown near the abbatoir or markets for feeding the cows in ranches in the North. The EU Ambassador, Amb. Ranieri Stacuci, over the weekend proposed a 40 Billion Euros investment to attract investment in the African countries under the AfCFTA agreement. Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo on a global stage in Moscow made it known that nepotism is a form of corruption and as long as Nigerian leaders only think of corruption in terms of money, goods and services, they delude themselves. In his words, " Nepotism is a form of corruption and condoning what is bad is a height of corruption. Lack of fiscal discipline is corruption. So, corruption and development cannot meet. You must eschew corruption to make sure that you make significant progress". CBN offers loan to NYSC members repayable in 7 years
Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria made this known when the DG of the Nigerian Youth Service Corps visited his office. It is a bid to reduce the unemployment rate in the country. The NYSC members will attend skills training workshops at the end of which they will receive the 7-year loan with a 2 year moratorium. The Federal Government places restrictions on the use of Sniper
In response to the rising rate of suicide among Nigerian youths, the FG has issued a directive to NAFDAC to ensure that all agrochemical dealers and all other stakeholders remove sniper from all open markets and supermarkets with immediate effect. NAFDAC’s director of Veterinary Medicine and Allied Products Directorate, Dr Bukar Usman, stated this at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan. The focus is especially on the 100ml bottle. Sniper is in fact an agro-cultural product meant for use in farms and not in households. Read it at NAN.
