National Assembly sued to stop it from spending N5.5billion on luxury cars

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), BudgIT and Enough is Enough (EiE) and more than 6000 concerned Nigerians have sued the National Assembly last Friday at the Federal High Court in Lagos to stop it from spending N5.5billion on luxury cars for its principal officials.  The Court is urged to hold that the principal officials are being selfish and their interests are in conflict with the national interest of average Nigerians and contravenes the Constitution as well as the Public Procurement Act.
