Power returns today as the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) suspends strike action. The union had threatened to go on strike following a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to meet their demands.
Their demand letter was sent to relevant authorities in the power sector as well as security agencies. The demands covered non-payment of salary arrears, lack of remittance of pension deductions and retrenchment of staff.
One Disco that has made an attempt to meet the demands of the NUEE is the Eko Disco. Sadly, they would have been affected since the Gencos that generate their supply will be on strike.
