The office of the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has taken over the treason trial of Omoyele Sowore following the famous court invasion by DSS officials and resulting embarrassment for the Presidency.
The DSS allegedly invaded the Federal High Court where Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, who had ordered his release from detention within 24 hours, was still sitting in a bid to rearrest Sowore after filing fresh charges against him.
Prominent Nigerians have also called on the Presidency to respect court orders as necessary in a democracy.
