The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, confirmed this when he featured on “Politics Nationwide,’’ a Radio Nigeria call-in programme monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday.
The Federal Government confirmed that Twitter has formally written to seek for dialogue on issues leading to the indefinite suspension of its operations in the country. He also said that the Federal Government stands by its decision to impose tax on all social media platforms and mentioned Pakistan, Singapore, Algeria, Turkey, Australia and the EU as examples of the new support for the regulation of social media.
