Sunday Special
Date for school reopening have been announced and the first question on your mind is if it's safe to let your children go back to school immediately?
No one knows for sure.
According to GoodHousekeeping, there are four area of risks for school children: contact from shared stationeries and other equipment, the air in classroom proximity, shared lunch spaces, toilets, gym and other recreational facilities, finally, school buses.
Our recently conducted poll show that while some parents say they will wait and see how others fare first, other parents are ready to get their children started on how to protect themselves without postponing the day of reckoning .
Wherever you fit in, here are some tips to help you navigate the eventual return to school post COVID-19.
Start with old school supplies
Including uniforms, if they fit. The uncertainty surrounding this pandemic may entail discarding the first set of back to school supplies if an episode is experienced in your child's school.
Build a homework base
It may have escaped your mind the amount of time spent looking for pencils and sharpener or even the homework book when school is in session. It can be seriously reduced if you set up a wide desk and chair/stool dedicated to doing homework and school projects. The pencils and other school staples can be put in empty jars on the desk after writing for next time.
DIY hanger for clothes will have you covered
If you put it up with your child's height in mind, you'll save hours throughout the week. You can hang out cardigans, what to wear each day or after school and avoiding putting uniforms in the laundry bag until you decide they should in there.
Plan meals in advance
Buying takeout can save you hours of cooking and cleaning but also leave a big hole in your pocket. The other alternative is to plan and prepare meals in advance to save yourself from stress and overspending.
