The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has disclosed that it will begin the implementation of Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) on January 1, 2021.
President Muhammadu Buhari had signed CAMA, which replaced the extant Companies and Allied Matters Act 1990, into law in August. CAMA became a subject of controversy within Christendom and recieved negative reactions from some clerics who argued that the act is targeted at churches. CAC in a Twitter post on Monday, said it is putting every mechanism in place to commence the implementation of CAMA on the first day of 2021.
