The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the Senate is set to block confirmation of the nomination of Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, for fresh five-year tenure by President Muhammadu Buhari.
This is following the National Assembly's plenary resumption today, after a five-week break. Sources revealed yesterday, that the PDP senators met at the weekend and took far-reaching decisions, including opposing Yakubu’s nomination.
