The Federal Government has revealed it is considering initiating an “Uber” like mobile ambulances scheme that will provide emergency medical services to Nigerians.
The Minister of Health, Ehanire, said this at a three-day retreat for National Assembly on Amendments of National Health Act 2014. He said that the ambulances in partnership with the private sector would provide first emergency care to patients across the country. According to him, the ambulances will work like “Uber” and no payment will be made at the point of care, no card or any other protocol will be observed before patients are being attended to, he added that toll-free lines will be provided by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), to be accessed by Nigerians at all times.
