Let clerics preach to bandits, my job is to enforce the law - Governor El-Rufai

Nasir El-Rufai, the Kaduna State Governor, has once again restated his position to never negotiate with bandits and kidnappers.

Governor El-Rufai, speaking at an expanded meeting of the state security council yesterday Tuesday, March 16,  said his job as Governor is to enforce the law and help to prosecute people who commit offenses, and not negotiate with criminals like bandits. This is following the repeated attacks by criminals in some parts of the North, and calls by some Nigerians, including Cleric Sheikh Gunmi, seeking the Government to negotiate with the criminals so they can lay down their arms.
