The decision to go on strike was made After an extraordinary NEC meeting held on Saturday at the Trauma Centre, National Hospital, Abuja, the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) says it will embark on strike on Thursday if its demands are not met.
Recall that the NARD, which is the umbrella body for all doctors undergoing residency training, said earlier here that it will be embarking on strike come March 31st because at least 1,600 of it's members were infected and 17 had died of COVID-19, while their families were not given any insurance claim despite N500bn released by the Federal Government last year for the COVID-19 response.
