The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of 20th National Sports Festival, “Edo 2020" has announced that it will end the games abruptly today, 12pm due to lack of funds.
The decision to end the festival at 12pm, Thursday was made at the emergency meeting of the Committee held on Wednesday evening. The LOC says it has to take the hard decision having expended its reserves to kick start the games, as the Federal Government is yet to redeem its pledge to support the host state of Edo financially for the cost incurred following the series of postponement of the festival.
