Following the burning down of an office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Udenu Local Government of Enugu State barely 2 days ago, another attempt was carried out at the premises of the state headquarters of the commission located near Enugu State Broadcasting Service at Independence Layout.
The attempt to burn down the office was foiled by armed security operatives but the
hoodlums numbering about 7 who arrived in a Mini-Bus were able to set fire to six Hilux vehicles parked around the premises, five of which were completely burnt. The sixth was partially destroyed. Some documents and furniture were burnt but firefighters arrived in time to save the office.
