UPDATED: The wife of the Chief of Army Staff, Mrs Fati Attahiru, was not onboard the aircraft. Mrs Attahiru is the National President of the Nigerian Arny Officers Wives Association (NAOWA).
He was in a military Beachcraft 350 aircraft that crashed at the Kaduna International Airport on Friday, claiming all eight souls onboard.
The incident happened at the airport’s runway about 6 pm. The Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Accident Investigation Bureau Nigeria, Akin Olateru, confirmed it.
