The Union will not hesitate to call for a total shutdown nationwide - NUPENG to Elrufai

The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has threatened a nationwide shutdown over the faceoff between the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai of Kaduna State.

Calling on the Federal Government to rein in the "arrogance and power drunk ego" of the Governor, NUPENG warned that no labour leader or worker may be harmed, harrassed, maimed, humiliated or victimized during the ongoing 5day peaceful protests in the state, otherwise it will call its already alerted members for a nationwide shutdown in 5 hours.
