Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, is seeking government focus on the rural majority in order to tackle poverty in Nigeria. Urging the Federal Government to learn from Brazil, China and India, he said the various Direct Cash Transfer Schemes, micro credit, Trader Money, the School Feeding Programme, the Small to Medium Enterprises credit scheme, the various agricultural credit schemes and anchor borrowers schemes are either not well executed or their funding is insignificant as they havent worked to fix the economy.
He said so at the convocation lecture at the 49th graduation ceremony of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) yesterday while delivering the Convocation Lecture titled “‘Inequality and the Dignity of Man.”
