Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC) Mele Kyari, spoke to Arise
TV on Monday and said the national oil company would be transformed into a
private company that would pay taxes and dividends to its shareholders. He said
this is following the recent signing into law of the Petroleum Industry Bill by President Muhammadu Buhari and the new company would be incorporated under
the Companies and Allied Matters Act
(CAMA). NNPC recently had a shakeup in management staff reported here in line with these developments.
