Youths from the North and South disagree over SARS disbandment

Following the dissolution of the controversial Special Anti-Robbery Squad by Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu yesterday, they have been mixed reactions from different ethnic groups in the country. While youths and socio-cultural organisations in the South welcomed the announcement, which followed weeklong protests in major cities of the country, some northern interests insisted that SARS was useful for their region.

They said the Police formation only required reform, as SARS has helped in fighting different crimes in their locality.
