Following his second impeachment trial which is due to start on the week of February 8, Former U.S. president Donald Trump has hired a new defence team. Trump’s office said late on Sunday that the new defence will be led by David Schoen and Bruce Castor who agree that the trial against Trump is unconstitutional.
Trump had parted ways with his initial defence team of five lawyers due to differences over his legal strategy. CNN reports that sources revealed Trump wanted the Attorneys to pursue unsubstantiated allegations of electoral fraud instead of questioning the legitimacy of impeachment proceedings against a President who has already left office.
