According to letter dated 30th July, 2021 from the 147th meeting of the Joint Tax Board (JTB) held in Kaduna, Kaduna State on March 25, 2021, the revised rates for driving licence and the sale of vehicle number plates are:
Drivers
license for three years duration formerly N6000 is now N10,000 minus bank
charges. Drivers licence for five years formerly N10,000 is now N15,000. Motorcycle/tricycle
driving licence for three years formerly N3000 is now N5,000 while the one for
five years formerly N5,000 is now N8,000.
As for
Plate Numbers, private and commercial number plates formerly N12,500 is now N18,750. Fancy
number plate formerly N80,000 is now N200,000. Motorcycle number plate formerly
N3,000 is now N5,000 while articulated number plates (three plates) formerly
N20,000 is now N30,000 from N20,000. Out-of-series number plate formerly
N40,000 is now N50,000 while government fancy number plate formerly N15,000 is
now N20,000.
The new rates are in line with the
recommendations of Appraisal and Technical Committee of the JTB. August 1, 2021
has been approved as the commencement date for the implementation of the new rates.
