Following the letter President Buhari wrote to the National Assembly, seeking them to confirm the appointment of new Service Chiefs, the Senate has ruled out the possibility of cutting short its current recess to confirm the new appointment as there is nothing urgent about it.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, said the Senate, and by extension, the National Assembly postponed its resumption because of another national issue. He said, "the National Assembly postponed its resumption to enable our colleagues participate in an exercise which is also of national importance.”
