Acting on a lead that minors were being forced into prostitution at the Kolab Hotel along Ayetoro Road, Itele area of Ogun state, Saturday PUNCH’s correspondent posed as a client to gain access to the room of one of the girls, 16-year-old Abigail (not real name), on Tuesday. The discovery was a shocking realisation that 22 ladies including underage girls were being used for prostitution at the facility.
The Police in Ogun had promised to verify the story when informed by the Newspaper and, when they did, they stormed the said hotel around 8pm on Friday leading to the rescue of the 22 teenagers, aged 10 - 16years and lured from different villages in Akwa Ibom State.
The pimp incharge was one Madam Nelly who collected N500 per client for short time (brief sex) and N1,000 for all-night romp – on a daily basis. She refused the girls' request to be taken back home and didn't allow them access to mobile phones.
