On Monday May 10, 2021, Judges of the Lefkosa High Criminal Court in Cyprus sentenced three people linked to the murder of a Nigerian student, Walshak Augustine Ngok, to jail over an incident which occurred in Northern Cyprus in 2019.
Chrstopher Ezeh, a Nigerian who was roommate to the deceased had a misunderstanding with him over a girl. They got home after a public brawl and resumed fighting before Ezeh killed Ngok by continuing to punch his unconscious body and later dumping it at the entrance of a forest .
Ezeh was sentenced to 27 years, while Nana Nkansah, a Ghanaian and Wayne Moyo, a Zimbabwean who helped transport the body were sentenced to three years each.
