On the heels of the violent protest carried out by motorcycle operators at Karu on Sunday, May 9, protest erupted at Orozo that led to the death of 2 persons.
The riot which started at about one o’clock in the afternoon of May 10, was caused by Orozo youths asking tricycles (keke) riders to park properly to avoid blocking the roads. While others complied one rider didn't and started a fight which later escalated as his friends came to his aid.
Motorists were seen deserting the routes for fear of having their vehicles attacked. The scene was filled with tension as hoodlums who kept chanting "we go kill any Keke wey come Orozo today."
